The First Cover Options

Continuing our discussion of How A Cover Gets Made and our cover-design contest (see /lauras-blog/how-cover-gets-made/ )

Cover designer Sarah Pierson’s first thoughts were to create these wonderful silhouette images, which anticipate her final and official cover design. I was a little concerned the second option could be misinterpreted that Peggy had a romance with Hamilton. So, as elegant and intriguing as it was, we eliminated that choice. Come back Friday to see more of Sarah’s initial designs!

Through April 12th, I will be posting all the cover ideas HarperCollins' creative team came up with before we fell in love with the final cover you all know! And I want YOU to participate in the fun for a chance to win a copy of the book and to let others see your design talents!

Here’s how to enter our Give-Away Cover Gallery:
1. Create your own cover for the book, however you’d like & post it on your Instagram
2. Use the hashtags #hamiltonandpeggy & #andpeggygiveaway

THATS IT! On April 16, I will announce my top 3 favorites and send them a signed copy of HAMILTON AND PEGGY! A REVOLUTIONARY FRIENDSHIP. All entries will receive an original signed bookplate for your books!

Thanks for joining in! Anyone can participate, tell your friends!
